Kelso‘s new advanced disc golf course is now open!
Kelso has expanded its beginner course to include nine new holes for experienced disc golfers! Both courses have been developed in partnership with Chainlink Disc Golf with conservation driving the design. Disc golf is included with all park day passes and Conservation Halton memberships. Challenge friends and family to a round or practice your skills with a solo game. Park visitors can also join Kelso’s new disc golf league starting July 24, 2024.

Disc Golf 101
Disc golf is similar to traditional golf, but instead of using clubs to hit a ball into a hole, a disc is thrown towards a basket.
The goal is to get the disc into the basket in the fewest tosses or ‘strokes’ possible. The player with the lowest total strokes for the entire course wins.

- Disc golf rounds are free of charge and included with day park passes and Conservation Halton memberships.
- Kelso offers a 3-disc rental set that includes one putter, one mid range, and one driver. The rental set can be signed out at the Trailhead Sports Rental & Retail store or Boat Rental facility. Rental Fee: $48 (Credit card must be used to rent discs)*$36 will be refunded upon returning the set. Please note that $12 is charged per lost disc.
- Players can purchase their own 3-disc starter set for $30 at the Trailhead Sports Rental & Retail store. Kelso also carries a variety of disc packs from local retailers, including single discs and disc bags. If we do not have the product that you are looking for, please email us at discgolf@hrca.on.ca and we will do our best to source what you are seeking! We proudly carry equipment from the following supporting sponsors:
- Light refreshments are available for purchase at Trailhead Sports Rental and Retail store to keep you energized on the course or after a round!

Disc Golf League
The disc golf league is an exciting way to experience disc golf. Join in and meet new players, improve your game, celebrate the sport and engage in a little healthy competition!
Kelso’s disc golf course is also available for hosting your own leagues, tournaments, or corporate rounds. Contact us at discgolf@hrca.on.ca for more information about how to reserve the course.
League nights will be a doubles format unless stated in advance. Players will be paired randomly and will compete with combined score or best disc. The format may vary week to week to add some variety. The league pool will be managed weekly on-site by cash or e-transfer.
Players may buy into the league pool each week:
- $10.00 League Pool (weekly)
- $6.00 to leaderboard
- $1.00 per player for ‘closest to the basket’
- $1.00 per player for Ace Pot (must be a league player who has bought in that week to win)
- $2.00 per player to Conservation Halton Foundation Donation — for reinvestment into disc golf at Conservation Halton Parks
Registrants will receive one of the following options:

- 2024 league position card — Numbered league card for fun side play. Compete with others to improve your standing.

The league runs on Wednesday evenings starting July 24, 2024.

What is a Mulligan?
A mulligan is a ‘do-over’ for a disc golfer. Hit a bad shot? Use a mulligan to take the shot again!
When league players buy mulligans, 100% of the purchase will go to the Conservation Halton Foundation — a registered charity dedicated to protecting our natural areas, connecting our community with nature and inspiring individuals and groups to create meaningful change. Players will receive a charitable tax receipt for the full value of their mulligan purchase.
How to Use a Mulligan:
Mulligans can be used on any League night, with a maximum of one per night.

- $4.00 per mulligan

Welcome to Kelso Disc Golf League 2024!
Thank you for joining us in our inaugural season! You’ve made a great choice. The league is a great way to meet other players, improve your game, challenge yourself and have a ton of fun! Here are a few important reminders:
Kelso League ’24
- Wednesday evenings
- The first league night is July 24, 2024
- Format:
- Typically mixed doubles
- Experienced & Amateur players will be mixed
- 6:30 pm tee off (for summer play)
- Meet at the Trailhead Pro Shop
- Hours will adjust with the season to accommodate daylight
- Some weeks will target Glow with a later than usual tee off
- Do I need to book?
- The league does not require special reservation or booking beyond a gate fee
- We strongly recommend all regular league players consider a Conservation Halton Parks Membership to save on gate fees. A Vehicle Pass will provide you with access to eight Conservation Halton Parks for one year from the date of purchase and will allow you to bring anyone with you in the same vehicle!
- All are welcome
- The league is for all ages, abilities & levels of experience
- Those who have signed up and received a League Tag will be eligible for the weekly players pools
- You are encouraged to bring friends and family out to try the league
- The first rule of Kelso League is: tell people about Kelso League. The second rule of Kelso League is: TELL people about Kelso League!

- Player Pool will collect proceeds for the Conservation Halton Foundation, contributing to the ongoing development of projects like Kelso’s Disc Golf Course and other great ways to access Conservation Halton Parks.
- League Mulligans
- Mulligans will be available for purchase by way of donation to the Conservation Halton Foundation
- Mulligans will be available for $4.00 each, or seven for $20
- A mulligan can be played on any league night, on any hole, by any player
- Mulligans are limited to one per player per round per league night
- With Doubles as the standard league format, only the player who plays their mulligan is permitted to throw another shot
- To play a mulligan, the player in question must tell their card they are playing a mulligan and is then responsible for turning in their mulligan card to the League Coordinator at the end of the round
- If a mulligan card is not turned in, one stroke will be added to the player or pairs final score

- All players with a current Player ID Card will be entitled to a 15% discount at the Kelso Trail Head. We carry everything disc golf! Bags, bottles, towels, apparel, discs, souvenirs and more!

Upcoming Tournaments
Kelso is proud to be hosting the second stage of the Chain Link Conservation Series. The CCS made its first stop this year at Albion and will be coming to Kelso on September 21 and 22, 2024. Other fun events in the days leading up to the tournament will be offered! This will be a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier event. More information will be available in the days ahead and on The Disc Golf Scene. Please save the date and consider inviting friends and family to watch the event.
