Easter Egg Extravaganza returns to Mountsberg April 14 to 16, 2017

Mountsberg Conservation Area is celebrating the first blush of spring with its annual Easter Egg Extravaganza – April 14, 15, and 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.


Conservation Halton to conduct prescribed burns in Pleasant View area on Monday, April 10, 2017

Conservation Halton ecological restoration staff have been busy planning throughout the winter, for prescribed burns at the Pleasant View Natural Area - Cartwright and Hopkins Tracts. After several weeks of monitoring the weather, conditions are favourable for the prescribed burn to take place at Cartwright this Monday, April 10, 2017, starting at 2 p.m. Due to the characteristics of the Hopkins Tract it will be burned at a later date.


Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook April 5, 2017

Conservation Halton has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook effective 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Widespread flooding is not anticipated, however fast flowing water and flooding of low lying areas and natural floodplains may be expected. Municipalities, emergency services and individual landowners in flood-prone areas should be on alert.

Conservation Halton has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety as of 3:45 p.m. on Monday, April 3. The message will remain in effect until Sunday, April 9, 2017.


Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook March 30, 2017

Conservation Halton has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook as of 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Mixed precipitation totals of up to 40 mm is forecast to fall throughout the watershed between Thursday afternoon and Friday evening.


Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety March 24, 2017

Conservation Halton has declared a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety as of 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24. Conservation Halton advises that the Weather Office is forecasting a low pressure system moving into our watershed which is forecast to produce rain showers up to approximately 20 to 25 mm with more rain forecast for the weekend.


Glen Eden to stay open for one more weekend March 24 to 26, 2017

Glen Eden will reopen for one last weekend of skiing and snowboarding for the 2016/17 season from Friday, March 24 until Sunday, March 26. A combination of some recent natural snow, the remaining manmade snow and some cooler seasonal temperatures mean the skiing and snowboarding season will continue for a few more days.

Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety February 28, 2017

Conservation Halton has declared a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety as of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28. Environment Canada is forecasting rainfall beginning tonight and continuing into early Wednesday. General rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 millimeters are likely, though isolated spots may see higher amounts, especially in areas that receive thunderstorms.


Conservation Halton holds 61st Inaugural Meeting

Conservation Halton held its 61st Inaugural Board meeting on Thursday, February 23. Gerry Smallegange was elected as the tenth Chair of the Board in Conservation Halton’s history. Cathy Duddeck was acclaimed as Vice-Chair and enters her third year in the role.
