Good Nature

Take part in Good Nature between April 16 and April 22 to help protect local greenspaces this Earth Day.

This April, support our “Good Nature” Earth Day initiative to have a positive impact on local greenspaces in Halton. From April 16 to 22, participating businesses will be donating 2% to our Connected Campaign to help us protect and enhance the conservation areas that make where we live so good.

Think Green. Shop Local.

Good Nature is a way for residents to give back while shopping locally, by putting their purchasing power behind businesses that are supporting our local conservation efforts. View our list of participating businesses below — and look for the Good Nature symbol when shopping in stores and online in April!

Questions? Find more information below or reach out to us at goodnature@hrca.on.ca.

How do I participate in Good Nature?

Businesses are asked to complete our online registration form to get started. Once you submit your form, you’ll receive an email with next steps and downloadable resources that you can use to promote your participation.

Can I focus my business’ 2% commitment on a single product or menu item?

Yes. Some businesses prefer to commit 2% across all sales, while others like to focus on a specific product or menu item. You can customize your support to meet the needs of your business. You can also choose to extend this commitment throughout Earth Week (April 16 to 22) or apply it only to Earth Day sales (on April 22).

My business operates online only — can I still participate?

Yes. After you complete your registration, you’ll have access to downloadable resources, including digital assets that you can use on your website.

Is it possible for corporate offices to take part?

Yes. If your business doesn’t operate as a local small business or public-facing store, you can still take part in Good Nature! When you complete the business registration form, you can indicate your preference to donate a flat amount in lieu of a portion of sales — or select the “other” option to tell us what you have in mind. You can also reach out to us at goodnature@hrca.on.ca to discuss other ways to get involved.

Will my business be listed on your website or social media?

We will update this page regularly to include the logos of participating businesses. If you didn’t submit your logo during registration, you can return to your form at any time to edit, or you can email your logo to goodnature@hrca.on.ca.

Throughout the month of April, we will recognize participating businesses on Conservation Halton’s social media channels to celebrate and amplify the reach of Good Nature!

Will you provide us with the “Good Nature” logo or other assets for promotion?

Yes. Once you register, you will receive an email that includes next steps and downloadable resources. In our shared assets page, you’ll have access to printable signage for in-store display, digital assets for online use, and social media templates.

Can I update my registration after submitting the form?

You can return to your form at any time to edit your submission. Look for the “edit form” link in your registration confirmation email (sent automatically to your primary contact email). If you have issues editing your responses, please get in touch with us at goodnature@hrca.on.ca.

Will my company receive a tax receipt?

As a cause-related marketing initiative, Good Nature donations are not eligible for a tax receipt from our charity; however, your contribution is eligible for a non-charitable business receipt that could be claimed as an advertising expense.
