The Conservation Halton Foundation is a partner organization to Conservation Halton and we raise charitable donations and sponsorships for environmental projects and programs in the Halton watershed, benefitting the residents of Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Burlington, Puslinch, Halton Hills and surrounding areas.
We raise funds to purchase natural lands to create new conservation areas and enhance existing protected areas for future generations to enjoy. We work to improve natural areas by planting trees and shrubs to provide habitat and stabilize creekbanks. Our stewardship efforts aim to protect and restore environmentally significant natural areas and watercourses.
Environmental education is a critical component in the development of healthy, ecologically conscious citizens. With initiatives like the Halton Children’s Water Festival, and programs like From the Ground Up, we are working to educate and inspire our young people to preserve, protect, and enjoy our natural surroundings. Our Mountsberg Raptor Centre provides young people with a unique first-hand experience to raise awareness about the diversity of Ontario native birds of prey, and the challenges they face.
Each year more than 75,000 visitors come to Crawford Lake to experience the First Nations heritage at the Crawford Lake Iroquoian Village on our sites, and celebrate the region’s unique geological and cultural significance.
Our conservation areas like Crawford Lake, Mountsberg, Kelso and others, provide life-giving, nature-based recreation and renewal for hundreds of thousands of outdoor lovers every year.
