Conservation Halton has established a permit fee schedule for reviewing permit applications and associated technical information. Fees vary depending on the scale, scope and technical review required. Fees are used to offset costs associated with the review. The review ensures that all regulated activities are undertaken such that there is little or no risk to life or property damage from natural hazards. It also ensures that new development in floodplains, valleylands, shorelines, and wetlands and alterations to wetlands and watercourses do not aggravate or worsen the natural hazard upstream, downstream or at the site.
Prior to establishing these fees, Conservation Halton consulted with municipalities and representatives of the development industry.
These fees apply to all permit applications submitted by landowners and other development proponents.
