Halton students learn about water conservation and stewardship at 2018 Halton Children’s Water…

The 13th annual Halton Children’s Water Festival (HCWF) was held from September 25 to 28 at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. This year’s festival welcomed more than 3,600 students between grades two to five from across the region. The annual event brings the classroom outdoors to help educate children in a fun and engaging way about the world’s most precious natural resource - water.


Fall and Winter Hours for Halton Parks

Fall and winter hours for Halton Parks will begin October 11, 2018. During this time, parks will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m until April 13, 2019.

Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook issued on September 7th at 1:00 PM

Conservation Halton issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7. Widespread flooding is not anticipated, however the forecasted precipitation may result in higher than normal water levels and flows in local streams.

Christmas Town Lottery Registration Dates are Announced

Over the years, Santa’s cabin has been joined by a top secret elves workshop, a present wrapping depot, a reindeer flight academy and a cozy kitchen for Mrs. Claus. Together the little village is known as Christmas Town. Registration for the lottery will be in September.


Rare honour goes to Kelso Quarry Park in Milton

Kelso Quarry Park joins an exclusive group of rehabilitated former pits and quarries awarded with the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (OSSGA) Bronze Plaque. The association’s highest honour, only 21 sites in Ontario have earned this distinction since it was established in 1975.


Food trucks roll into Kelso Friday evenings this summer

Food Truck’N Friday is making its way from the streets of Toronto to the escarpment in Milton at Kelso Conservation Area every Friday evening from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm in July and August, featuring one of the most beautiful natural areas and some of the most flavourful food trucks in southern Ontario.


Update on Ecological Restoration at Drumquin Park

Construction is progressing on the ecological restoration project on Sixteen Mile Creek at Drumquin Park. The temporary diversion channel is complete and is now redirecting flow around the creek work area.
