Just because its winter, that’s no reason to stay in and hibernate! Why not try an ancient activity that is new again at Crawford Lake Conservation Area and experience the wonder of nature at night. Let the staff at Crawford Lake lead you on a guided snowshoe hike.
Each hike begins with basic instruction and some historical background on the sport of snowshoeing. Next, you will strap on a pair of snowshoes, and take a guided trek through the Crawford Lake woodlands. Your guide will point out some of the natural features of the area, and motivate you along the way. At the end of the evening relax by the fire with a steaming hot chocolate.
Snowshoe hikes will be held every Saturday evening in January and February from 6 to 8 p.m. The first Evening Snowshoe hike at Crawford Lake took place this past Saturday, January 6, and was sold out. The cost for the program is $18 for Adults and $13 for Children & Seniors plus HST. This event is not recommended for children under 10 years of age. This program requires pre-registration and space is limited. To register please click here and reserve your spot early for these special evenings!
