Halton Parks Fees for 2014

Conservation Halton has announced its Halton Parks fees for 2014 which includes annual memberships, daily fees, group camping and picnic rentals and fees for education programs at Crawford Lake and Mountsberg Conservation Areas. The majority of the fees are unchanged from 2013, but there are a few significant changes.

Glen Eden season set to open this Friday, December 13

The 2013/14 ski and snowboard season at Glen Eden will get started this Friday, December 13 with the first chair at 8:30 a.m. It is the earliest opening date for skiing and snowboarding at Glen Eden since 2008/09.

Conservation Halton releases 2013 Public Accountability Report

Conservation Halton has released its 2013 Public Accountability Report which provides an overview of the organization’s programs and services. The report tracks a number of key statistics, revenues and expenses over a three-year period (2010 to 2012). The report indicates the number of people visiting Conservation areas hit unprecedented levels for the fourth consecutive year, while education program participation was up, as was community involvement.

The events take place over five days on Thanksgiving weekend (October 12 to 14) and the following weekend, October 19 and 20, at Conservation Halton’s seven main parks.

After a successful launch in 2012, the Halton Forest Festival is back for a second year and will kick off on Tuesday, October 8. The educational portion will take place from October 8 to 10 at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area with 1,200 grade 6 and 7 students participating, as well as more than 250 volunteers, including high school students who will help deliver the activities.
