MEET THE MUSICIANS

ASD Band

ASD Band, features four talented performers on the autism spectrum – vocalist Rawan Tuffaha, vocalist and lead guitar Jackson Begley, keyboardist Ron Adea and drummer Spenser Murray. The band debuted in grand style during 2019, playing alongside Roger Hodgson and a 43-piece orchestra for a performance of ‘Give A Little Bit.’ After recording cover songs including the Imagine Dragons ‘Follow You’ which the Dragons’ drummer called “such a great and inspiring performance,” ASD Band composed and arranged their first EP, ‘Fireflies’. Released in late 2021, the process of creating the album was captured in the feature-length documentary, “OKAY!”, which was awarded a prestigious Audience Award at the Hot Docs International Film Festival, won best Canadian feature film at Montreal's FIFA Film Festival, and has played around the world. In 2022, ASD Band was invited to open Hayden’s ‘Dream Serenade’ benefit concert at Massey Hall and in 2023, was chosen to be on ‘Canada's Got Talent’ receiving four “yeses” from the judges. 

The Blackstones

What is the sound that a lot of us have grown up with? American/British rock, High School throwbacks, and the twang of Country Music; that’s The Blackstones. Harmonizing, AC/DC, Blink 182, Tom Petty and Alan Jackson - the Blackstones bring the concert to the stage. Seeing them perform it’s difficult to put into words - it's an experience. It's musicians that have grown up playing music with a goal to deliver the party!

Benny Douglas

Independent artist Benny Douglas has been quietly making his mark on the Canadian Country music scene. Douglas released his debut single in June 2021, and carried on writing and performing across the GTA and surrounding areas. This past summer he was selected as a top 8 finalist at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival Emerging Artist Showcase, sharing the stage with the likes of Josh Ross, Owen Riegling, Tim Hicks, and many more. Hailing from Peterborough ON, Douglas has a familiar small town acoustic sound; drawing on the likes of Childers, Zach Bryan, and John Mayer, Benny provides a warm and genuine performance that will put a smile on your face.

Broadtree

With a heavy influence from their experience on the musical theatre stage, Broadtree, a duo from Toronto, Ontario, have created a unique blend of stylized storytelling over a bed of catchy pop country ready to blast in the summer sun. All four of their singles released in 2022 reached top 15 in Canada on the Indie Country Countdown, with their last release of the year, "Meet Me at The Table", reaching number one. Their harmonies and performance chemistry over both original songs and covers will have you bopping and singing along all night. They have a strong, interactive presence on social media, conversing personally with fans and using their platform to speak out about mental health, racial equality, LGBTQ+ support and First Nations rights in Canada.

CJ Cooper

At just 23, CJ has played the National Bank Open and sung on Sportsnet and for the CFL. She recently opened for Bif Naked at Canadian Music Week and sang with JJ Wilde at the London Music Hall. In 2020 and 2021, CJ was given a "Community Hero Award" from the Mayor and was voted "Top Local Musician" in Guelph. She releases her debut album “Look Ahead” August 2018 and toured on the Toronto to Vancouver ViaRail train. In 2022, she released her sophomore album "Are We There Yet?" and is currently working on her third album. 

Darren Hancock Band

Formed in 2005, the Darren Hancock Band has been playing on hundreds of live stages across Ontario, including night clubs, private parties, and festivals like Ontario Country Roots Festival, Mackenzie Creek Music Festival, Hops & Harvest Festival, For the Love of Fathers and Food Trucks, and Truck and Tractor Pulls.  The Darren Hancock Band has been the opening act for top Canadian Country artists like Jason McCoy, Dean Brody, Kira Isabella, Leah Daniels, and The Road Hammers, while gaining new fans and friends along the way. With high energy and top tier musical talent, this band does not disappoint!

Fast and Loose

No song or genre is safe from Fast and Loose saying, "yeah, we can give that a try". In the
ongoing quest to give the people what they want, the band has amassed a repertoire of crowd
pleasers, both familiar and unexpected, tailor-made to ensure that every performance is as fun
as it is spontaneous.

Hayley Verall

Hayley Verrall is a young and talented pop country artist from Burlington, Ontario, who is making waves in the music industry. Inspired by roots artists like Dolly Parton and Shania Twain, and contemporary artists like Miranda Lambert and Gabby Barrett, Hayley's clear and distinct voice delivers thought-provoking observations and encouragement through her music. With over 200,000 streams and a new single called "Slow Motion," Hayley is quickly becoming a household name in the country music scene. Hayley Verrall's latest pop country single, "Slow Motion," encapsulates the essence of cherishing life's most memorable and special moments by embracing a slower pace. With heartfelt lyrics and a captivating melody, Verrall's enchanting vocals invite listeners to pause, reflect, and truly appreciate the beauty that surrounds them. The song serves as a reminder to not let life pass by in a blur, but instead, to savor each precious instant, ensuring that the most treasured memories are not missed. "Slow Motion" is a heartfelt anthem that encourages everyone to live in the present and relish the magic of life's unforgettable experiences. 

Hayley's talent has not gone unrecognized, as she has received numerous awards and nominations for her work. In 2018, she won the Ontario Country Music Association International Award and the Burlington's Arts Person of The Year Award. In 2019, she became the first Canadian "Women of Country Music" Ambassador and won the North American Country Music Association International Award. In 2020, she was inducted into the Burlington Performing Arts Centre Hall of Fame, and in 2022, she won the Silver Award for International Female Emerging Artist from the International Singer Songwriters Association. She has also been nominated for the Faith Nolan Award, the International Singer Songwriter Association Award, the Fair Play Country Music Awards, and the Josie Music Awards. Overall, Hayley Verrall is a talented pop country artist with a bright future ahead of her. With her clear and distinct voice, powerful and emotive vocals, and a range of influences, Hayley is sure to leave a lasting impact on the music industry.

Holly Clausius

Holly Clausius is a queer Toronto artist with a timeless, unique sound, mixing genres like pop, soul, folk and rock. Clausius’ vocals have been described “as smooth as a cup of chamomile tea and as sharp as a sewing needle” (Blast Magazine, 2020). As a lyricist, her distinct point of view and witty nature creates a safe space for authenticity.  From performing with her full band at iconic venues like The El Mocambo, Horseshoe Tavern, and TIFF Slaight stage to producing monthly queer variety shows, her ability to uplift 2SLGBTQIA+ artists and create community is unmatched. In 2021, her award winning single “Big Plans,” was praised by Deborah Cox, Priyanka, Tegan and Sara. More recently, Clausius’ track ‘Yellow Dress’ was highlighted on season 2 of Netflix original show ‘Ginny and Georgia’. Freshly off her Cross Canada Wildflowers Tour, performing to sold out audiences in Kingston, Ottawa, London, Montreal, and Vancouver between March-May of 2023. Her latest single and crowd favourite, ‘Apple of My Eye,’ was released in June 2023, giving us a taste of what her upcoming album will bring. With an ever-changing sound and dedication to musical experimentation, her next project will be hook laden, euphoric, and influenced by 70’s glam rock.  

H 2 Oh! 

H to Oh! is one of Toronto's longest standing classic rock bands.  Beginning in the 1980s with leader/founder L. Benny Sanders as drummer/lead vocalist, the band has toured Southern Ontario, Quebec, The Maritimes and across Newfoundland numerous times.  The band provided the musical soundtrack for a film while in St. George's NL on their 2012 tour.  H to Oh! played multiple times at he Hard Rock Cafe (both Yonge Street & Skydome), The El Mocambo, Grossman's, The Rockpile and The Black Swan before shifting gears to play as an All Canadian Review (as '67 and as Guess Who?) as well as The Summer Party Band (a tribute to The Beach Boys).  They return now, full of energy, to play some dangerous classic rock at Hops and Harvest. Come and say Hello to Benny, Blair, James and Joe.

Jason Maxwell

Jason Maxwell is a singer-songwriter and recording artist known for his high energy performances and approachable personality. With over 1.8 million digital streams under his belt, Jason has been featured on several editorial playlists including Spotify’s Viral Hits, Country Favourites, North Country and Hit Italiane playlists, Spotify’s Country Hits station, Apple Music’s Country Lovin’, New Music Daily and New in Country playlists, Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Country, Certified Country, Fresh Alternative and Just North of Nashville playlists, and YouTube Music’s The New Crop playlist. Jason appears for a cameo performance in the worldwide Netflix release "Full Out 2” which features “Girls Like To Dance” on the official movie soundtrack. Jason is an experienced and versatile performer. He has opened as a supporting act for several notable artists including The Washboard Union, The Reklaws, Chad Brownlee & J.J. Shiplett.

Jessica Sole

Named “one of the hardest workers in the Ontario Country Scene”, Shelburne based artist Jessica Sole is no stranger to determination. Working alongside award winning producer, Shawn Moore, Jessica has crafted a fresh, newsound that is taking the industry by storm. After the release of her debut EP “Think of Us”, (over 150k global streams two top 40 hits on SiriusXM Channel 171), Jessica has continued to grow. After a sold out release party earlier this year, for Nashville recorded EP "Hometown Cliché, and busy summer bringing her high energy, unforgettable show directly to her fans, Jessica released her new single "Fallin' For You" on September 8th. “Fallin' For You” quickly became Jessica's biggest release to date. Including multiple editorial playlist adds, the song landed the rising star the cover of Amazon Music's "Breakthrough Country" playlist. Jessica is looking forward to an even bigger 2024 with more music and more live shows! Keep an eye on her socials for updates.

Johnny Lee

Jonny Lee is a singer-songwriter & recording artist from Alliston, ON. A seasoned performer and veteran frontman, Jonny brings a thunderous fusion of country and rock to every stage he plays. Jonny’s musical upbringing from a young age left him with an undying love for traditional country music - as honest and genuine as they come, Jonny represents the personified definition of ‘country’ through and through.

One Ugly Cowboy

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist, Hurricane Jane, One Ugly Cowboy (OUC) always delivers a high-energy show filled with their unique blend of country/rock grit and soulful ballads! OUC released two CD’s and have had six singles hit #1 on the fan voted Canadian Indie Country Countdown chart breaking the CICC record! But they also love putting their ‘ugly cowboy spin’ on classic tunes that span the spectrum from Abba to Johnny Cash to Queen. Their version of RING OF FIRE was chosen by the Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAO) as video pick of the month in October 2022 and has gone on to become their most viewed video garnering new OUC fans worldwide. This year they were nominated for Group of the Year and lead singer Jane Sowerby for Vocalist of the Year (Country/Rock/Southern Rock) at the prestigious Josie Music Awards taking place this October in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Ole Opry House. They have played the CNE four consecutive years and have rocked major country music festivals including: Lucknow Music in the Fields, Hagersville Rocks, Kempenfest, Boot Hill ‘Country’ Jamboree, Smoke ‘N Spurs and Havelock Country Jamboree. They have opened for such artists as Jason McCoy, Jess Moskaluke, Honeymoon Suite, Lee Brice George Canyon, The Box and The Spoons (to name a few)! OUC's wealth of experience both musically and in life makes them a band that will not only uplift their
audience but more importantly leave them with moments to remember.
