Join us for a remarkable celebration of the first harvest of the year - maple! Crawford Lake is excited to welcome Chef Johl Whiteduck Ringuette of Toronto’s NishDish Marketeria for A Taste of Maple 2020. Learn about Indigenous cuisines and how they tie to Indigenous ways of knowing and community. Chef Johl will also discuss the many Indigenous foods that have become staples in today’s diet, like maple! Learn how the team at NishDish Marketeria celebrates traditional food as medicine to nourish the spirit. Guests to this special event will also try samples of delicious NishDish creations including Bannock and Maple Syrup, Wild Rice and Wild Blueberry Pudding, and Three Sisters Stew!
Event registration also includes access to Crawford Lake Conservation Area’s Sweet Water festival and Mountsberg’s Maple Town for the day and complementary tastings of maple taffy on snow. Access to this tasty event is by pre-registration only.
