Join us for a remarkable celebration of the first harvest of the year - maple! Crawford Lake is excited to welcome Chef Johl Whiteduck Ringuette of Toronto’s NishDish Marketeria for A Taste of Maple 2018. Chef John will be speaking about Indigenous cuisine and food sovereignty and the significance of maple as one of many incredible Indigenous foods. Learn how the team at NishDish Marketeria celebrates traditional food as medicine to nourish the spirit. Guests to this special event will be able to try some delicious NishDish creations including Three Sisters Stew, Bannock with Wild Blueberries and Maple Syrup, and Wild Rice Pudding and Maple Syrup are on the tasting menu!
Event registration also includes access to Crawford Lake Conservation Area’s Sweet Water festival and Mountsberg’s Maple Town for the day and complementary tastings of maple taffy on snow. Access to this tasty event is by pre-registration only.
