Conservation Halton is a public sector organization established by the Province and governed by the Conservation Authorities Act, which is administered by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, to develop and deliver local watershed-based resource management programs on behalf of the Province and participating municipalities. The municipalities located in the watershed appoint representatives who serve on the Board of Directors to oversee the programs of Conservation Halton. These appointed directors, who are both elected municipal councillors and citizen appointees, speak on your behalf at Conservation Halton.

A “delegation” is a member of the public or an organization who wishes to speak at a Conservation Halton Board of Directors meeting about a topic related to the mandate of Conservation Halton. Any person or organization interested in being a delegation must make a request in writing to the President and CEO at least ten days in advance of the upcoming Board Meeting, and provide any supporting documentation to be included on the agenda. If you are interested in being a delegation, please contact 905-336-1158 ext. 2236 or email admin@hrca.on.ca prior to the scheduled Board of Directors meeting.

Conservation Halton takes a sustainable and transparent approach to finance management, using established guidelines, judicious principles and a rigorous approval process to ensure efficient and equitable division of expenditures supported by public funds, user fees, and other self-generated revenues.
