During the month of April, Conservation Halton teamed up with local businesses to raise funds for the Connected Campaign and to build awareness about the importance of protecting local greenspaces.
Thirteen Halton businesses signed up for the inaugural fundraiser, coined “Good Nature”, committing a portion of their Earth Day sales to the Conservation Halton Foundation.
“We’re grateful to all of the brands that took part in our Earth Day initiative and to everyone who shopped local in April to show their support,” said Garner Beckett, Executive Director of the Conservation Halton Foundation.
Proceeds from Good Nature are being directed towards projects that are helping to enhance the health and resilience of forests in Conservation Halton’s greenspace network.
“We have many significant projects planned and underway that individuals and companies can support through our campaign, including initiatives that are helping us steward local greenspaces and grow healthy forests across our watershed,” added Garner. “In the last few weeks alone, Conservation Halton has planted more than 50,000 native trees and shrubs. Our donors and partners continue to make so much of this work possible—every contribution makes a difference.”
