GREEN SPACE: NEWCOMER YOUTH CLIMATE FORUM

NOW OFFERING WORKSHOPS FROM OCTOBER 2023 – JUNE 2024!

Climate change is a challenge without a precedent. It can feel overwhelming, but youth can make a difference with their skills, knowledge, and experience! Conservation Halton launched the Green Space: Newcomer Youth Climate Forum in partnership with RBC Tech for Nature to help youth (ages 14-29) learn more about climate change, gain practical skills to help their community fight climate change, and make new friends.

The Green Space program runs from أكتوبر 16, 2023 to يونيو 8, 2024. Monthly workshops will be held in-person at Conservation Halton Parks. Free transportation is available at select pick-up locations in Burlington, Oakville and Milton.

This program gives youth the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and the knowledge and skills needed to take on leadership roles in local climate action initiatives. Youth will:

  • Learn about climate science, the current climate crisis, and its local and global impact
  • Learn about government policies, laws, and initiatives related to climate action, adaptation, and mitigation
  • Carry out a climate-communications capstone project to lead local change!
