Owl Prowl MB Come "nose to beak" with live owls native to Ontario. Learn about their fascinating adaptations, their habitats and homes, hear their calls, and feel their soft feathers and sharp talons. Birds of Prey MB Compare the size, hunting habits, habitats, and other features of the 5 different types of birds of prey found in Ontario. This program features "nose to beak" experiences with different live species of birds. Recommended for age 7 and up. Activities include: Interaction with live birds of prey, guided tour of the wildlife walkway trail. 1.5 hrs

SPLASH MB Through exploration of Mountsberg’s wetlands, participants investigate the similarities and differences in the characteristics of various organisms that call this habitat home. Using dip nets and magnifying lenses children discover how important wetlands are and our need to protect them. Activities include: Exploration of a pond habitat, hands on dip netting in a wetland habitat. 1.5 hrs

Instincts for Survival MB An outdoor education classic! This is a very active program in which participants assume the roles of herbivores, omnivores and carnivores in a terrestrial ecosystem. Youth learn about the relationships between various species and their habitat. Food chains, adaptations and habitat requirements are all explored in this program. Activities include: Interactive Instincts for Survival game 2 hrs

Snowshoe Adventure CL Begin your adventure with a multimedia presentation that explores the history of the snowshoe then suit up and hit the trails. There are no shoes like snowshoes when it comes to exploring the winter landscape. This program is recommended for children age 8 and up. Activities include: Multimedia presentation, training on the use of snowshoes, guided hike featuring wildlife tracking OR snowshoeing games 1.5 hrs

Tour of Discovery CL Ontario’s First Nations heritage comes to life during this guided exploration of a reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village. See what life in the longhouse was like over 600 years ago. Activities include: Multimedia presentation, guided tour of the Iroquoian Village, longhouse exploration, traditional firestarting and sampling of cornbread and maple syrup OR lakeside sharing. 1.5 hrs

Life in the Longhouse CL A Crawford Lake classic! Participants discover Ontario’s rich First Nation’s heritage as they explore a 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village. Hands- on opportunities abound as the group engages in games, craft making, longhouse exploration and a hike to learn about what life was like in a longhouse village over 600 years ago. Activities include: Longhouse exploration, circle gathering and fire starting, native games, craft making (grade 3), artefact discovery (grade 6),multimedia presentation, Moccasin Walk (guided hike). 3 hrs

Time Capsule CL A guided hike around Crawford Lake on an elevated boardwalk affords you the perfect view of this incredible natural resource. Learn about this rare meromictic lake’s unique natural and geological features as well as how Iroquoian and Pioneer people would have relied upon its bounty. 1.5 hrs

Dig in and Discover Archaeology CL Dig in, get dirty and find out how we know what we know about the past. Through hands-on exploration participants learn how archaeologists uncover the secrets of past civilizations. Activities include: Lakeside discovery challenge, pottery reconstruction, artifact analysis, hands-on simulated dig. 3 hrs
