Opening Night for Kelso Family Outdoor Movie Nights, the long-running late summer attraction, is this Friday, August 11 with a showing of Trolls. Join family and friends under the stars, as Kelso Conservation Area hosts its popular outdoor movie series every Friday night right up until the Labour Day Weekend.
Admission to the movies is included with the regular gate fees, while Halton Parks members only need to show their pass for admission. Here is the 2017 line-up for Kelso Family Outdoor Movie Nights of four family films which will delight audiences of all ages:
- Friday, August 11 – Trolls (2016)
- Friday, August 18 – Finding Dory (2016)
- Friday, August 25 – Pete’s Dragon (2016)
- Friday, September 1 – Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Start your weekend off with some family time watching a movie outside, or make a day of it with a trip to Kelso and a picnic dinner, or book a campsite and spend the night. More information on camping at Kelso can be found on the Halton Parks website, www.haltonparks.ca on the Kelso page.
The shows start at dusk, approximately 15 to 20 minutes after sunset, weather permitting. Don’t forget to pack the lawn chairs and blanket; Kelso staff will be selling hot dogs, popcorn, snacks and drinks.
If it is necessary to cancel a Family Outdoor Movie Night due to inclement weather or other reasons, Conservation Halton will post a cancellation notice as soon as the decision is made on its website (www.conservationhalton.ca), Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ConservationHalton) and Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/ch_comm).
