Conservation Halton issued the following Flood Warning Update at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.
The creeks in Burlington have receded but may still be out of bank and producing nuisance flooding. Residents in flood prone areas area advised to take precautions around these bodies of water and stay well back of stream banks.
Some roadways in the Burlington area are still closed due to storm drain issues.
The forecast does suggest additional rainfall today with a chance of thunderstorms.
Conservation Halton staff will be out investigating the local damages in the Burlington area today. We will attempt to work with our partners on expediting any potential remedial works resulting from the heavy rains today.
Conservation Halton will continue to monitor stream and weather conditions and will issue an update to this message by 12 p.m. this afternoon.
Note: A Flood Warning is issued when flooding is imminent or already occurring in specific watercourses or municipalities. Municipalities and individuals should take action to deal with flood conditions. This may include road closures and evacuations.
