Posted by on

Family Outdoor Movie Nights return to Kelso Conservation Area with four family films, including a retro classic from the 1980s. Opening night is Friday, August 9 with a showing of Ice Age 4 Continental Drift.

Join family and friends under the stars, as Kelso hosts a Family Outdoor Movie Series every Friday night for the month of August. The series is sponsored by RecycleYourElectronics.ca, in recognition of Halton Region and its residents for top performance in collecting electronic waste in 2012. Ontario’s e-waste diversion program is a success thanks to you.

Admission to the movies is included with the regular gate fees, and Halton Parks members only need to show their pass for admission. Here is the line-up for Kelso Family Outdoor Movie Nights:

  • Friday, August 9 – Ice Age 4 Continental Drift (2012)
  • Friday, August 16 – Movie title to be announced
  • Friday, August 23 – E.T. (1982)
  • Friday, August 30 – The Rise of the Guardians (2012)

Start your weekend off with some family time watching a movie outside, or make a day of it with a trip to the beach at Kelso and a picnic dinner, or book a campsite and spend the night. More information on camping at Kelso can be found on the Halton Parks website on the Kelso page.

The shows start at dusk, approximately 15 to 20 minutes after sunset, weather permitting. Don’t forget to pack the lawn chairs and blanket, Kelso staff will be selling popcorn, snacks and drinks.

If it is necessary to cancel a Family Outdoor Movie Night due to inclement weather or other reasons, Conservation Halton will post a cancellation notice as soon as the decision is made on its website, Facebook page and Twitter feeds.
