MILTON – Hilton Falls Conservation Area is getting ready to kick off the 2013 Mountain Biking season with its 14 the Annual Spokes and Slopes All-Weather Challenge. Don’t miss the chance to ride into spring with this fun event for everyone, which takes place on Sunday, April 21.
MILTON – The 2012/13 ski and snowboard season at Glen Eden has come to an end and this season continued with the trend of the numbers going uphill. Despite another fairly mild winter, the number of visitors hit a new high for the sixth consecutive season as more than 330,000 people visited Glen Eden to go skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
Conservation Halton is looking for volunteers to join our team of nearly 400 people who will plant more than 3,600 trees and shrubs on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The EighthAnnual Trees for Watershed Health Tree Planting will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Kelso Quarry, off Steeles Avenue (adjacent to the Kelso Conservation Area).
CAMPBELLVILLE – Join us at Mountsberg Conservation Area for the Great Easter Egg Extravaganza this Easter Weekend from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lots of fun including a Scavenger Hunt for older kids, a kid’s colouring centre, giant bubble activities, and visits with our baby farm animals in the Cameron Barn.Comments
BURLINGTON – Conservation Halton is conducting a Shoreline Policy Review this spring, including community consultation, and will finalize the policy once the consultation is complete.
BURLINGTON – Conservation Halton today released its 2013 Watershed Report Card with grades on the health of four key measurements, Forest Conditions (C), Groundwater Quality (A), Impervious Land Cover (D) and Surface Water Quality (C). Measuring helps to identify healthy and ecologically important areas which require protection or enhancement.
