Conservation Halton holds 60th Inaugural Meeting, Vice and Duddeck acclaimed as Chair and Vice-Chair
Conservation Halton held its 60th Inaugural Board meeting on Thursday, February 25. John Vice was re-elected as Chair of the Board for the sixth consecutive year and Cathy Duddeck was selected as Vice-Chair for the second time.
onservation Halton advises that Environment Canada is forecasting a winter storm for Southern Ontario which is expected to bring significant amounts of rain, snow and ice pellets, along with the possibility of freezing rain. A total of 15mm to 25mm of precipitation is expected throughout the day on Wednesday with an additional several centimeters of snow expected Thursday morning. Conservation Halton is asking all residents and children to stay away from watercourses and structures such as bridges, culverts and dams.
The maple sap is flowing and Mountsberg and Crawford Lake Conservation Areas are firing up for two marvellous maple syrup festivals. Starting this Saturday, February 27 until April 3 Mountsberg Conservation Area is pleased to welcome visitors to the working sugar bush at Maple Town and Crawford Lake Conservation Area presents Sweet Water Season. Conservation Halton’s maple programs are run on weekends, March Break and holidays.
Conservation Halton has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety as of 2:30 p.m. on February 19, 2016. Take care around creeks and streams and other watercourses. This statement will be in effect through to Monday, February 22, 2016.
