Glen Eden Improvements
You may have seen a few changes around here! Thanks to funding from the Government of Canada, we will replace snowmaking pipes at Glen Eden/Kelso. The new pipe will improve our snowmaking capacity so that we can make snow more efficiently, easily, and reliably. We anticipate the pipe replacement will be finished before the skiing and snowboarding season so that visitors can enjoy a long, uninterrupted, and enjoyable season skiing and snowboarding at Glen Eden.
What are we doing?
We will be replace the existing snowmaking pipes that run under the Canadian Pacific Railway. This will include Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Pipe Replacement.
Kelso/ Glen Eden is working towards infrastructure improvements to increase the efficiency and reliability of our snowmaking infrastructure at Glen Eden in order to improve visitor experience with changing climate.
When will the project begin and end?
Construction is proposed to start in November and be completed prior to Glen Eden’s season opening.
What does this mean for me? Will it affect the season at Glen Eden?
This means that there may be minor hiking and mountain biking service disruptions during the beginning of November. NOTE: No impact or disruption is anticipated for ski and snowboard season.
Thanks to funding from the Government of Canada through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
