Indigenous ways of knowing are deeply tied to the land, water, and nature’s cyclical events. Catherine Tammaro will be facilitating a workshop in which the lunar calendar and its connection to the turtle shell will be honoured through the construction of an individual Moon Calendar. She will guide guests through the creation of their own calendar representing the annual cycle of 13 moons and learning how we can look at the cyclical passage of time as a connecting point to the natural world.

Understanding the value of cultural perspectives of ecological knowledge is a key piece of moving forward with Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, as well as for us as a species moving forward in our relationship with the natural world. Join us in the spectacular Deer Clan longhouse gallery for this special event. Cedar tea and cornbread will be served. Pre-registration is required.
