Join Crawford Lake staff from 10am-12:30pm on September 16, 2017 for a morning celebrating Ontario’s magnificent monarchs! Each fall, monarch butterflies undertake a truly remarkable journey more than 3000km from Ontario to their wintering grounds in Mexico. Learn about the monarch life cycle and journey and (weather permitting) help us tag and release monarchs to help scientists learn more about how to protect this species at risk. Kids and kids at heart can help make native wildflower seed balls to take home and create food and nesting sites for caterpillars and nectar source for adults in their own backyard. This event is drop-in throughout the morning and is included with the price of regular gate admission.
