How does it feel to walk in the snow with snowshoes on? People long ago walked all winter in snowshoes to get around in the forest. We invite you to come on out to Crawford Lake on Sunday February 15, cozy up with your pajamas under your snowsuits, and experience travel in the winter at our Snowshoe Pajama Night. There are two sessions scheduled, 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Snowshoeing Pajama Night at Crawford Lake Conservation Area includes a guided hike, longhouse exploration, craft, snack, and storytelling around a fire. Staff will guide you through our snowshoe trail looking for animal tracks and signs while walking in snowshoes. After the hike, children can create a craft as a memory of their hike and then explore a reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian longhouse in the village. Finally, to conclude your evening, you can relax by a fire and listen to a legend as you enjoy a gooey, toasted marshmallow.
The cost for the program is $16 for adults and $11 for seniors (ages 65 years and over) and children (ages 5 to 14 years) plus HST. The Snowshoe Pajama Nights are recommended for children 5 years of age and up. So grab your boots and reserve your spot for this special evening early! You can pre-register by clicking on the Snowshoe Pajama Night listing on the Conservation Halton Events Calendar or call Crawford Lake Customer Service, 905-854-0234, extension 0.
